How to Use the Amazon KDP Cover Calculator
- Enter Trim Width and Height (in inches, e.g., 6 x 9). These are your book's final page size.
- Enter Page Count (interior pages, e.g., 200). Must be a whole number ≥ 1.
- Select Paper Type: Cream (6.0 lb) or White (6.5 lb). This affects spine thickness.
- Click "Calculate Cover Dimensions".
Results show:
- Spine Width – calculated as (pages × paper thickness) / 2.
- Total Width = 2 × trim width + spine + 0.25" bleed.
- Total Height = trim height + 0.25" bleed.
- PDF Dimensions (with bleed) = total dimensions + 0.25" extra bleed margin.
All values are in inches. Bleed margin is fixed at 0.125" per side.
